Corinthians midfielder Willian has hailed Reece James as the far-flung forward who will become the best right-back in the world in the future. Ready to look at the old team like Chelsea to advance to win the Premier League this season.

The 22-year-old star has been outstanding for the Blues this season, scoring four goals plus five assists in the league this season. Stepped up to seize the right-hand side of the club excellently.

Asked about his current Chelsea squad, Willian said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel: “Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Reece James”.

When picked up one, the Brazilian replied: “Difficult. I think Reece James – likes him – he’s a good player. I think he can become the best right-back in the world in the next few years.”

Regarding the Premier League champions this season, Willian said: “Three teams that can win it: Chelsea, Liverpool and City – but Chelsea [will be champions] for sure.”

Not many full-backs across Europe can match Reece James’ output in the final third. Many would argue that the Chelsea star is up there with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Achraf Hakimi and Joao Cancelo.

It is also worth noting that Reece James is only 22 years old and likely to improve further. Having established himself as a key player for Chelsea, the right-back could soon prove Willian right.
